About Dr Greg Nash

Dr Gregory Nash is well known for his stories of misadventures growing up in the Queensland town of Gympie. From out-of-control four-wheelers to electric fences his teen years are a blur of first-aid and laughter.

After leaving school Greg completed a bakery apprenticeship and re-located to the Sunshine Coast where he worked as a baker/pastry cook for ten years.

After a decade of listening to constant whinging about grave-yard shifts and bakery ovens, his wife enrolled him in a bachelor degree at the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2002. Ten years later Greg has Bachelor, Honours, and Doctoral degrees and is the Program Leader of the communication degree at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Dr Nash has a passion for public speaking and has presented at many events and conferences including the Brisbane Writers Festival and The Noosa Long Weekend. He has written for a number of magazines on the topics of science fiction, parenting and social issues and published methodology and teaching strategies in academic journals.

Greg is currently writing his second academic textbook on foundational communication skills to complete assessment with a focus on public speaking and academic writing. He lectures and coordinates the University of the Sunshine Coast’s largest course by enrolment (COR109 Communication and Thought) and inspires as many students as possible to exceed their own expectations.
