About Colin Graham

Irish born, Colin is the founder of Causeway Innovation and is focused on building innovative businesses and regions. Colin has degrees in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. His first job after graduating was in marketing with Dulux – near London – and he was promoted to International Product Manager to support global brand development.

At 26, he left Dulux to be the co-founder and CEO of Yellowbrick, focusing on graduate recruitment and development. Colin led a commercial research project involving 36 companies in the UK and North America and this helped shape recruitment and training services for blue chip companies and small businesses.

Colin then joined the Career Innovation Company, based in Oxford, working on collaborative projects for Global HR Directors from 18 companies – including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Unilever and Marriott. He published ‘ePeople, engaging talent in the entrepreneurial age’, the Times newspaper review said: “All CEOs should read it and heed it.”

In 1999, Colin joined the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen to establish a Business Incubator which was recognised as the ‘UK’s Best Business Support Program’.

In 2002, Colin moved to Australia to be the founding CEO of the Innovation Centre at the University of the Sunshine Coast, supporting the start-up and growth of 83 businesses employing over 350 people. He also contributed to regional economic development projects such as the early development of Sippy Downs as a University town, the Clever Networks Broadband project and developing business connections with the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. In 2012,

Colin returned to running his own business, Causeway Innovation. He is also Deputy Chair of the Sunshine Coast branch of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
